Frequently Asked Questions
Which meta tags does Meta Checker inspect?
It covers title, description, canonical, and robots directives, plus all Open Graph properties (og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, og:type, og:site_name) and Twitter Card fields (twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description, twitter:image). Missing or conflicting tags are flagged with specific fix suggestions.
Why does my og:image show as missing even though I set it?
Common causes: the URL is relative instead of absolute (must start with https://), the image returns a non-200 status, or it is smaller than the recommended 1200x630 px. The tool reports the exact issue so you can fix it before sharing.
Can I check a page that requires login?
No. The tool fetches the page as an unauthenticated request. Pages behind a login wall return the login page HTML instead of the actual content, so the meta tags shown will belong to the login page, not your target page.
